Orders of Protection

Orders of Protection are very heavy-handed restraining orders entered to provide relief to those who are victims of domestic abuse.  Where a domestic relationship exists and when one party commits an act of abuse, threatens to commit an act of abuse, and/or stalks the other party, an order of protection may be awarded to the victim to protect them against further contact from the defendant.  If your spouse, romantic partner, family member, and/or room-mate has abused you in some manner, you may be entitled to an order of protection against them and, if successful, you may be entitled to a judgment against them for your attorney’s fees incurred in prosecuting that action.

ARE YOU BEING STALKED OR HARRASSED?

Tennessee family law courts take domestic abuse very seriously.  If you are a victim of stalking or harassment, you may be entitled to an order of protection.

Additionally, if you are successful in obtaining an order of protection on behalf of yourself and/or a minor child, you may be entitled for a judgment against the offending party for your attorney's fees incurred in litigating that action.
